So today I'm joined by Harman [00:00:30] Dhillon with Brookfield Residential, and we're going to teach you:
How to remove and clean your windows
So Harmon, I guess before we begin, do I need to remove my blinds if I have them?
You don't have to. We just removed the blinds for this video purpose. Just makes it easier for you to see everything that we're going to show in this video.
Karl Yeh: Okay. For sure. So how would I go about cleaning it?
So first we're going to unlock the window so we can slide it open and we're going to pull it open. You can notice that there's two anti-theft clips here.
If we're actually underneath [00:01:00] those anti-theft clips we can't actually pop up the window. So we're going to make sure we're clear of those. We're going to lift the window straight up and pull it out. We're going to set it aside for now.
We're then going to pull out the track from one corner here and we can pull this guy out, as well. And then we're going to pull out the screen by pulling towards us on the black tabs.
Try not to drop the screen because then you get to go all the way down and grab it, and we can clean all of this stuff. So you can notice a couple holes here.
These holes are for drainage, so [00:01:30] any water that gets spilled in here will drain outside of your window and we can clean everything there.
Once you're done cleaning, to reinstall the screen, there's a little track right here. We're going to place the end of this screen in there.
And we're going to pull on the black tabs again towards us until we hear the click.
We're then going to pop the track back in so you hear the clicks, [00:02:00] and then pop the window back in. Again, just be mindful that you're clear of the anti-theft clips.
Karl Yeh: Perfect. So Harman, do you have anything else to add?
There are two wheels underneath the slider that can be wiped down, as well.
And remember to watch our other videos on home maintenance in our playlist here, as well as other videos here. Thank you very much for joining us and I'll catch you in our next video.
