Your home is where you house every aspect of your life and ensure it enhances your experiences and well-being while providing comfort, care and safety.

As a society, we’re becoming more aware of the human-related impacts of climate change. Encouragingly, we have also taken responsibility to develop innovative solutions to reduce these impacts. It is a commitment we at Brookfield share and embrace.

BUILT GREEN® Certified

One way the homebuilding industry is leading the change is the establishment of the BUILT GREEN® program. This proactive effort has established stringent benchmarks for builders to meet. There are five levels of certification: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Net Zero Energy+

Aiming for The Gold Standard

Brookfield Residential is diligently working toward achieving Gold level certification on all single family homes.

This is a good example of how it pays to be environmentally responsible.  Not only can homeowners expect lower utility bills, but under this program, homebuyers who purchase a home that achieves a Gold level BUILT GREEN home will qualify for a 25% CMHC mortgage premium rebate, which offsets the upfront cost of building more responsibly.

Good is Never Good Enough

At Brookfield, we’ve sought to raise the bar through an approach of practical sustainability. Here are three examples of how our homes aim higher to do what is right.

  • Exceeding Alberta Building Code – We intentionally construct all single family homes to Tier 2 Building Code and higher… which is 10% higher than provincial requirements.
  • EnerGuide Approved – As of 2025, all Brookfield single- and multi-family homes will receive the EnerGuide label which demonstrates your home's energy performance.
  • Energy Efficiency – All homes come with triple pane windows, LED lights, low flush toilets and more.

The Future Is Green

We've come a long way and there are a number of green initiatives with our townhome projects that we are excited to share.

EV-Ready

Starting in Livingston, all townhome projects will have EV-ready garages.

BUILT GREEN Townhomes

Select multi family homes are following the example of our single family homes. Rhythm at Taza Park has been built to Gold level certification.

Solar-Ready

Starting with Brightside on Main (in Seton), all townhome projects will be solar-ready.

Future Proofing our Homes

Brookfield is prepared for the future of Net Zero homes. And soon all Brookfield homebuyers will be too.

We are currently developing two high-performance building envelope wall assemblies. This will ensure we have the right product and knowledge to continue the evolution of future proofing our homes.

This gives you the flexibility to go Net Zero today, or at any point in the future.
